I am Professor of Biblical Studies and Christian Origins at Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. I am also affiliate faculty of the Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Denver. I am best known for my work Paul (author of Paul Was Not a Christian), Jewish-Christian relations in antiquity and the complicated history of forming their distinct religious identities., the problem of anti-Judaism in early Christianity. My current research compares attitudes toward writing and scribal practices among Jews and Christians.

This site serves three purposes: The blog comprises musings typically related to the following subjects: Bible, History and/or Religion, Technology, and Philosophy of the Human; it enables the collection and sharing of media related to those topics; and it serves as a teaching and learning space for my students at Iliff School of Theology.
